I didn't expect this place to be a gastropub, it was what it was - a hometown "family restaurant" or sorts. We had no internet access and didn't know where to find Krambonz, and by the time we' come off a day on the road it was conveniently located and accessible. Food was decent but not awe-inspiring, service friendly enough. They do have wifi, though they don't advertise it at all.

Guy Fierro, pay attention and get here: Yes, this is a heart attack waiting to happen. Yes, it's well worth and what a way to go... Bourbon Chicken, fried cutlet drenched in a home made a little too sweet bourbon sauce. Home made mashed excellent on the side. Barbecue chicken with sweet potatoes French fried to perfection sprinkled with sugar. What? So good. Desert specialty of the house: a puff pastry filled with cream and topped with a generous portion of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and sprinkled with heaven. So bad and yet so good. Don't go often but go go go!!!

This area is lacking when it comes to Yelp recommended options. So I had already decided to play it by ear this year. Anything but the Crab Trap. I noticed this spot, behind Hardee's. The parking lot was full, and that's usually a good sign. Most of the patrons were older and the menu options are similar to the Cracker Barrel, with a few extras like buffalo wings and trout cakes. I decided on the turkey club sandwich and wasn't impressed. It was thick, but the meat didn't reach the crust, and the meat was bunched in the middle. The bread was too toasted in my opinion. My husband ordered the Dragon Burger well done, which was a highlighted item on the menu. It was slightly pink, but not well done. It was a thick 10 oz. patty so it is probably hard to cook to perfection. The bun was buttered and soggy. I heard the manager or owner walking around asking people how their meals were, but he never stopped at our table to ask us, nor did the waitress ever stop back by to follow up. I don't think it was the fault of the waitress though, she was waiting on the entire restaurant. Not good management at all. I almost gave them a three until we decided to split a piece of carrot cake. At the cost of $5, it was quite small. The carrots on top were withered, they were only garnishment though. The overall taste was good. I did notice on the lunch menu that they offer a few all you can eat options, like pork chops, fried fish and fried chicken for around $10 and that comes with a side and dessert. So, if you're already here, hungry and like those few options... go that route. We might've caught them at a bad time.

We have been to Tellicafe for prime rib three times in the last six weeks and it has been great. The service is caring and all the meals in our groups have been excellent from sea bass to salmon. Rich is a thoughtful host who pays attention to his guests' needs. We recommend it!

This is the hometown restaurant in Tellico Plains where they pride themselves on dishing up Southern style plates and do a great job at delivering Southern hospitality. With that said, there aren't many choices in town and no one will argue that this is one of the better options, but don't expect much. The food is destined to be barely better than Denny's, Bob Evans, Shoney's, Iron Skillet, etc, but for the most part it's equal to a Cracker Barrel. Their menu does have an exceptional item: the trout cakes. They were the same quality as a good restaurant's crab cakes, yet made with trout. The fried green tomato BLT would be much better if you ask for white bread rather than roll. And, I'd steer clear from the meatloaf. We each tasted it and agreed you couldn't taste any meat, just bread drums and spices. You'd be better served with ordering a sandwich. On the other hand, their side salad is wonderful and comes with fresh greens rather than tasteless iceberg like they normally serve at similar restaurants. The reality is if you've made it to Tellico Plains you're likely going to end up here because of the few choices available. Just know, the staff is warm and friendly and it's a comfortable spot to eat. If you're in the area to fish or camp, you'll be content with what's served here.

Its a small town cafe that's got decent food and decent service. Perhaps we just stopped by at a time when it was slow but we were the only people in the cafe. We were sat immediately but the waitress seemed like her mind was elsewhere. There were only three of us but she didn't seem to have the time to listen to any of our actual orders. The first one was straightforward, open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The next two orders where for the Soup and Ham and cheese sandwich. Its listed on the menu as a half sandwich but both people ordering wanted full sandwiches and to have them grilled rather than cold. When she brought out our meals one soup had a half a grilled ham and cheese, the other soup had a whole cold ham and cheese sandwich. She quickly whisked off the cold one to grill but left to quickly to fix the other order. We decided to settle with what we got. The roast beef was good but slightly cold, perhaps an hour earlier and it would have been better but the mashed potatoes and brown gravy were stellar and made up for the luke warm Roast beef. The hot ham and cheese sandwiches were excellent. The ham was good quality county ham, nice and salty. One soup was the loaded baked potato soup which was given a "good not great rating" but the person eating it is a little addicted to my homemade loaded baked potato soup. The other soup was the chili, which was fantastic chili, not as spicy as we make it at home but definitely some of the best diner chili I have had in a long time. All in all this place is good for the price and for what it is.

Was one of those place you go by and it is packed. So of course we try it. Bad idea. First they are out if meat loaf. Then second choose trout. So ended up with ground steak that taste burnt from the grill marks. You know the marks that are made by picking up food that was previously grilled. Mash potatoes no gravy. And Mac and cheese. Still trying to figure out where u buy ORANGE cheese. I vaguely recall a type of powered cheese my mom got when I was little from food rations. It was orange. Stay away unless u like hamburgers cause that is all these little mom and pop places can make.

We were on one of our weekend trips and we came across this restaurant in the town of Tellico Plains, TN..so we opted to stop in..Saturday, July 7th, we stopped for Lunch in Tellico Plains, TN at Tellicafe..it was pretty good food. with Noelle Lori-Elizabeth Teel and Dale Tony Vanoy. It was a small diner of a restaurant, family owned..it was not crowded with the seating, sort of open and airy..inviting atmosphere and plain but comfortable decorations..nothing WOW..or OMG..but nice..nothing bad about it ... They had a really good Black Cherry Currant Iced Tea..that I recommend you getting right off the bat...I would love that stuff everyday.. Tony and I opted to get the Roast Beef Open Faced sandwich with Mashed Potatoes..homemade not instant..with homemade very good very fattening gravy..I could drink this stuff..Noelle opted for the grilled chicken with french fries and her second side she took the green beans for me...and she also decided on some fried apples..which I had to steal a bite of...good good good.. the green beans were slow cooked all day taste with some bacon in the flavoring..I highly recommend them also.. The roast beef was so tender, you didn't even need a knife...and Tony took a side of Mac n Cheese, another highly recommended homemade item. We had NO ROOM FOR DESSERT..but with the rest of the food...it had to be homemade and delicious..and the price was so reasonable... all for only $23 plus taxes and tip...AMAZING !!! if in the area,,, Tellico Cafe...here we come !!!!

Well, IF there were a place where fish had to go after they died to right their wrongs in order to make it to the Kingdom of Fishes with the steams made of gold ... THIS Rainbow Trout has made his way there. He has received the most highest honor and swims with the Angels now. I have never had a more delicious fish (of any kind) meal in my entire LIFE. It melted in my mouth with the lemon slices. If My Love and I make it back up to the Smoky Mountain area of Tennessee again I will go here. I will never order Rainbow Trout from anywhere else. The Tellicafe's Rainbow Trout makes it a shame to come back to Alabama to our pitiful catfish which we pride ourselves in so much in this part of the state. Perfection!

Tucked away behind the Hardees in Tellico is a restaurant I've grown to love. You won't find WIFI or good cell service here (AT&T anyway) but you will find some unexpected food for this area. Beyond the meatloaf, collard greens and chicken are some fancy and tasty beef and pasta dishes. Desserts include anything from cherries jubilee to rum bread pudding. Prices are a little on the high side for this area but the range of food will appeal to a wide audience. You can get a five dollar sandwich or a twenty dollar zest of lemon chicken dish that would seem fancy enough to be considered date food. Everything I've had here has been good but their black currant iced tea (sweet or unsweet) stands out as special.
